In this episode of Gordon Ramsay's Secret Service, Gordon Ramsay is in Whitinsville, Massachusetts to help out Neighborhood Kitchen. Neighborhood Kitchen is a restaurant that is serving subpar food and the kitchen is filthy. Gordon Ramsay will need to clean things up and come up with some new dishes in hopes of turning this restaurant around.
Secret Service for Neighborhood Kitchen was filmed in April 2025 and I searched around the Internet to read stories, comments and reviews about Neighborhood Kitchen to get an idea of how the restaurant is doing since Gordon Ramsay visited, and here is what I found (note - all reviews are post Secret Service):
Positive Reviews:
- "Order the smash burger and I must say 10/10. Was simple but delicious and the sauce on it was unreal! The lady that took care of me was amazing. Definitely coming back to eat dinner there the place was very comforting and chill inside not loud and crazy."
- "I got the meatloaf dinner delivered through door dash. The delivery was quick. The food was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend for a good home cooked meal"
- "Ordered take out and got the “Big Mac”. It was unbelievable. Can’t wait to try the rest of the menu. The fries were nice and soft too."
- "The Smashburger was outstanding as was the brownie sundae! You need to give the new Neighborhood Kitchen a taste!"
Negative Reviews:
- "The Haddock was a greasy, heavy, unseasoned mess that was inedible. The fries were also limp, greasy and not seasoned. Post Gordon Ramsey the food prices have gone up and the quality isn't there."
- "Post-Gordon Ramsey visit. Food was not good. Interior is dark. Service is quick but rude. Waitstaff is condescending and quick with a rejoinder. Our fountain drinks tasted poorly and of plastic and we were told it was our palate and not an error of theirs. Prices have gone up but food quality has not changed. Interior is very dark and looks like a late seventies basement with wood paneling. Two groups of people got up and left without ordering while we were there and our group will not be returning either."
- "Went here with a friend recently for the first time. The place was dark and looked like something out of the 70s....And the dining area had a strange smell, maybe old oil in the deep fryer? It was off putting. Our waitress was fine. The menu options were limited. I got the tuna club special with fries, which was good. Friend had the turkey club, which was also good. Fries were tasty, hot, and crispy. Prices were reasonable. But would I go back? No. Just an overall strange vibe to the place."
- "We preferred the menu options before the remodel"
- "We went here a lot more before the changes - whether dining in or taking out. The menu may have been too large before to be profitable, but now it’s extremely limited. Very few choices and smaller portions for higher prices. I had the smash burger recently and it was yummy. The service was also great as usual (love love love the owners). The new decor? Awful. We honestly thought we walked into a Thai place. It is so so dark and not suited to the name or menu. I liked it better before. I was really hoping for brighter lighting and flooring to make it more inviting. They do have new furniture, plates and silverware - great upgrades. But the atmosphere is less appealing than it was before. We also understand limiting the menu but now there are too few offerings and you can no longer order from the same menu for dinner or lunch. The Neighborhood has always had awesome food - that did not need to change.Gordon Ramsey and team - you need to come back and do better for these wonderful people as they deserve it - and to be successful…"
